This demonstrates poor quality flat bed scanning and how, even a relatively inexperienced user of photo processing/enhancement software can dramatically improve the image.

Scanned - HP Scanjet 4C (old unit)
Type Scan - Flat Bed of 4x6 prints
Software - HP Scanjet
Processed - Adobe Photoshop v. 5.5
Enhanced - Color channels split &
processed for shadow backgound.
Various processing of sharpen, soften, tone equalization, brightness and
contrast.
Note - Scanning quality for all images was poor.

Camera - Meade 216XT in 16 bit mode
Processing - Combinations of Sharpening and Smoothing
filters in PictorView v. 6.45
Advanced software - Adobe Photoshop v.
5.5
Advanced processing - Level and Sharpness only
in Adobe Photoshop v. 5.5
Note - Imaging quality for all images was poor.
Different combinations of period error, wind, seeing and focusing.
This is authors first entry into CCD imaging. 216XT is primarily used as
standalone guider for photo work.
