| Negatives - October 1998 | The Pinwheel Galaxy in the Constellation Triangulum is a member of the "Local Group" of Galaxies and is considered one of the brighter members. It shines at a magnitude 6.3, but due to it's large surface area, remains a difficult object in small telescopes and is considered a somewhat challenging photographic object. |

This object was one of my first attempts at
digital double stacking to maximize contrast, first accomplished in
1998. As appears in the above result, re-processing the same stack in Picture window with quality negative scans and utilizing Photoshop features, maximum benefit
has been gained.
